Dropbox offers a free 2 GB service, then after that, services start at $9.99 per month for 50 GB.
It wasn’t all bad, of course- I still had the data on the other drive, but it was about a month old. Everything since then- photos, videos, PSDs, music files- was gone.

Since then, I’ve been researching various online backup solutions, and that’s what I want to post about today. Here are the best of what I’ve found.
The computer has been one of the most amazing and fruitful discoveries man has ever made. It has revolutionized the way man does his things. The way he eats, drinks, sleeps and even thinks. And computer itself has evolved over the years. From the Eniac I to the hand-held palmtops in executives` hands today, computer has changed with the technology. And it has changed our lives too.

It’s important whether you’re a business or a home computer user that all of your important photos, videos, documents, and information is backed up some where some how. It’s impossible to know when a computer crash can occur, and being prepared is the only defense you have against it when it happens.
What makes using a service like Carbonite or Mozy so great is that once you add a file or set of folders to your backup set any new files, or files modified within that set will automatically be uploaded during the next backup to keep the newest version of the file on hand at all times.
I also didn’t have any issues with backing up my files from an external hard drive. Mozy’s online backup service was easily able to read my external hard drive. I have tried other online backup solutions that weren’t compatible with external hard drives, but Mozy had no issue.
